Dan Walker's career in broadcasting has spanned over two decades, beginning with his entry into radio before transitioning into a notable television presence.

Radio Career: Started in 1998 with work experience at Sheffield's Hallam FM. Moved to Manchester's Key 103 as a sports presenter and commentator in 1999, working there for four years. In 2015, Walker presented the Afternoon Edition on BBC Radio 5 Live, until 2016. On 24 June 2023, I filled in for Aled Jones on Classic FM's Saturday morning show. From 8 January 2024, became the regular presenter of the weekday breakfast show on Classic FM.
Television Career: Transitioned to television in 2003 with Granada Television as a commentator.Joined the BBC in 2004 for North West Tonight, earning a nomination at the Royal Television Society Sports Awards in 2005.Became a national presence on BBC in 2006, covering major sporting events and tournaments.
Took over as presenter of BBC's Football Focus in 2009, a role he held for 12 years until 2021.Covered the 2010 FIFA World Cup from the England team base. Experienced a poignant moment in 2011 with the death of Gary Speed, who had appeared on Football Focus. In 2016, succeeded Bill Turnbull as presenter of BBC Breakfast, a role he held with different co-presenters until his departure.
Met Tony Foulds in January 2019, leading a successful campaign for a flypast to honour a WWII incident, broadcast nationally.Became host of The NFL Show in November 2020.Competed in the nineteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, finishing 5th. Paid tribute to co-presenter Louise Minchin upon her departure from BBC Breakfast in September 2021.
Announced his departure from the BBC on 4 April 2022, moving to Channel 5 where he made his debut in June 2022. Won an episode of The Weakest Link in December 2022. Began presenting "Vanished" on Channel 5 in 2023.
Walker's career trajectory from local radio stations to become a recognizable face on national television illustrates his versatility and adaptability in the fields of sports broadcasting, news presentation, and entertainment.
